Using PPC To Increase Your Web Profits

One of the easiest ways to drive targeted traffic to your website is through PPC (pay per click). The most popular PPC program is through Google Adwords. You simply create tiny little ads and bid on keywords. Once created, your ad will appear almost instantly on Google in the “sponsored section”, generally on the first page. Then every time someone clicks on your ad, you have to pay a certain amount ranging from $.10 to $25.00 and up (depending on the keyword).

The good thing about PPC is it is fast traffic. The downside to PPC is that it can be very costly if you are not familiar with how to do it correctly. If you bid on too broad of a keyword, that could cost you a bundle for each click. So you have to learn how to research your keywords thoroughly and choose the longer phrased, lower competition keywords. This will get you both more targeted traffic and lower costing clicks.
For example something like insurance quote will be a very high cost keyword because there are a lot of companies out there who want it. So it may get you a lot of traffic but not a lot of people actually purchasing what you are selling. A better keyword in this instance would be something like Touring Caravan insurance quote, because although you will get less traffic, everyone that you do get will be more likely to be a consumer; and the keyword will cost you a lot less per click thus saving you money and improving your online business!
